Questions about wedding films
What is the difference between a highlight film and a traditional wedding video?
A traditional video records the ceremony and events in full, in order — ideal for the family archive. A highlight film is a shorter, edited story of the day, cut to music with the best moments, sound and emotion. Many families choose both.
Can we choose the music for our film?
Yes, we’re happy to discuss your preferences. Keep in mind that popular film songs are copyrighted, and platforms such as Instagram and YouTube may mute or block videos that use them. We can suggest options that are safe to share publicly.
Do you record the audio of the mantras and speeches?
Where possible, yes. Clean sound — the priest’s mantras, the nadaswaram, a father’s few words at the reception — is what makes a film feel alive. We plan microphone placement with the venue and priest in advance.
Can you include aerial or drone shots?
Aerial shots can be discussed for outdoor venues and pre-wedding shoots, subject to venue permission and the drone regulations in force at the time. Many indoor or temple venues don’t allow them — we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s worth it.
When will we receive our wedding film?
A careful edit takes time — selecting moments, cleaning the audio, grading colour and building the story. Delivery timelines for each film, and how many rounds of changes are included, are agreed with you and written into your quote. A short teaser usually comes first, so you have something to share while the longer films are edited.
Will the video team get in the way of the photographers?
Not when photography and film are planned together. The teams agree positions for each ritual beforehand so both get clean angles and neither blocks your guests’ view.
